From the early days of the local craft fares the cold days on the market stalls, selling from our spare bedrooms or the summer house in the garden, we loved getting to know our customers. Many became friends and the KJs Family started to grow. Many who have been with us from day one still visit us at 'Sizzlerland' to stock up and have a chat. As we expanded to different platforms of social media we worked hard to maintain the Community/Family feeling. We still rely on the honest feedback from our KJs Family regarding our products. When we get bad reviews (yes we have had them ), we do our own investigations into the feedback and if we cannot find an issue, we talk to our trusted KJs Family for honest feedback to make sure our products have reached the standards they have come to expect.
Something that myself or Kate didn't think of would be the feedback we got, and get, from so many of our customers is the difference our products make to their mental health.
Certain scents can stimulate the release of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and endorphins, which contribute to feelings of happiness and relaxation etc. Fragrances and things like citrus perfumes boost your mood and have a positive effect on your energy levels.
Talking about Mental Health is very important to me (Eddie). I have been struggling with depression most of my adult life so and I often bring it up in the lives we live on Social Media. I have a different perspective on how home fragrance has changed my life and helps my mental health. I have talked before about the feeling we get when we sell the products we produce, and the community we have built over the last five years and this helps me so much. On the days I feel worthless, useless and not worthy of the space I take up, it helps to think of the feedback we get that our products and how they make a difference to our lives and provide people somewhere to come and be part of the KJs Family. The antics on our Fiver Fridays on TikTok and the 'Balloon Pops' on Facebook result with many messages saying thankyou for the smiles - it cheered me up after a bad week and really lifts me. All of us at KJs are very aware that we are not just sending out nice smelling products but, also, shipping out something that makes a difference to our amazing customers' days.
